Using just pocket knives, Howard B. Taylor created over one hundred handmade wood carvings. Each one is done from a single piece of native Oregon wood and features at least one moving part.
Every carving is labeled with not only the common name for the particular wood, but also with its botanical or scientific name. Many show a sample of the tree's natural grain and bark in those carvings' display stands.
Howard's attention to detail and desire to share his "working man's knowledge" of the world is revealed in every carving he made.
