Bird Paintings

Howard B. Taylor would sit in the woods, holding completely still, for long periods of time to observe birds within their natural habitat. When he couldn’t study them in the wild, he would find other ways to view and research many different bird species. He painted Herons and Egrets stalking their prey in marshes and a Peregrine Falcons with his mate perched high on a ridgeline overlooking a fog-covered valley. There are over 50 wildlife paintings. Many are life-sized paintings of hawks, eagles, and other Oregon raptors. Over 75 smaller paintings depict finches, wrens, warbles, sparrows, and other smaller birds.
